Testimonials

Lauren was so helpful in my postpartum recovery. She has an intuitive mindfulness that let me feel safe and motivated to be proactive in my own self-care. I especially enjoyed our private yoga sessions. The gentle movement and meditations helped calm me and rejuvenate my body.

Lauren provided a safe and nurturing space for me while recovering from knee surgery, which was more mentally and emotionally challenging than I expected. Lauren guided me through some gentle movement, meditations and experiences to connect me with my body and the elements. Since our session I have felt more motivated to live each day with acceptance and grace, knowing that I am strong and that I will make it through this. Sometimes we just need the space to feel our feelings and move through our experiences, and Lauren provides that space in a confident, grounded and caring way.

Lauren is mindful, wise, and simply a lovely human. She guided me through a difficult mid-life transition by helping me recognize and navigate my deepest challenges and traumas. Using both her intuition and expertise, Lauren gave me the tools to become a healthier mother, partner, daughter, and Self. I am forever grateful for our time together.

Working with Lauren as my doula while going through breast cancer was one of the best parts of my treatment plan and feeling well again. She helped me through all of it - the diagnosis, selecting my care team, the emotional and psychological triggers of dealing with cancer, the reflection, celebration and paving a new path forward after recovery.

When I was pregnant, my research told me that doula care can be incredibly beneficial. I was interested in working with a doula but didn’t know how to connect with someone. When I was about seven months pregnant, I met Lauren at an event at the library. She introduced herself and her field of work. Afterwards I reached out to her via email. My husband was hesitant about doula care and I shared this with Lauren. She shared several research backed papers with us that support doula care for pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. This evidence helped convince my husband that doula care was right for us. Lauren met with us in our home for our first meeting. She spent two hours with us reviewing all the details of her work. I met with Lauren 5 times before childbirth. Our work ranged from talking through my concerns, yoga, therapeutic process of fears, birth plan decisions, and more. Lauren was with us from the onset of contractions through childbirth which lasted about 9 hours in total for me. Before going to the birth center, Lauren helped guide us through early labor with pressure point relief, breathing, decision making and logistics. During childbirth, Lauren advocated for me in a number of ways we had previously laid out in my birth plan. Under the pressure of birth, I completely forgot about my preferences but Lauren made sure all the providers knew what I wanted. Throughout labor either Lauren or my husband were with me at all times. I feel like Lauren’s physical support was very beneficial for my husband; allowing him to step away for a break when he needed it. After delivery Lauren stayed with us at the birth center and then a bit of time at our hotel as well. Once we were back home, Lauren visited us twice for postpartum care. Debriefing the birth experience with Lauren and my husband felt reassuring and conclusive after what felt like a blur sometimes. I highly recommend Lauren’s care if you’re considering a doula for your pregnancy/childbirth/postpartum experience.
